

Cupid is a Hamilton-based illustrator, tattoo apprentice and novel artist who specializes in intricate linework, bold colours and decorative borders.Their work centers queerness, nature and the importance of community. The angels, dragons and rich borders that frame their work explore the ever-expanding world of literature and blur the boundaries between the imagined and reality.Outside of illustration, you can find Cupid crafting jewelry and textiles, baking some sweet treats or watching Twin Peaks.They are currently an apprentice at Lowk’ai Tattoo Collective in Hamilton ON.

In the summer/fall of 2024 I had the wonderful opportunity to work as Theatre Sheridan’s Marketing Illustrator for their 2024/25 season. The position included creating visual assets for social media and poster designs to be printed and placed in promotional settings through brochure and email. I animated the pieces for use on their social media using ToonBoom Harmony.
I designed various assets, from character to logo and poster/banner design for Sheridan College’s student-led arts market ‘Zine Zone’ in winter and fall of 2024.
Tasked with designing a poster and marketing campaign for a hypothetical music festival, I explored various typefaces, hand-lettering and hierarchical principles of design. Using a mix of Adobe Illustrator and Clip Studio Paint, I created vectors that would be employed throughout the festivals poster, website and merchandise, creating a unified and eye-catching aesthetic.

A zine for one of my classes focused on reportage drawing/documenting my exploration of the Art Gallery of Ontario. I wanted to emulate nostalgic scrapbooking methods.
An infographic for my informational illustration class on the legacy of writer and activist Leslie Feinberg, focused on communicating effectively through design hierarchy while remaining visually appealing and relevant to the subject matter at hand.
